SoloNetworkGuard Privacy Policy

SoloNetworkGuard is an Android network monitoring and firewall app offered under ECG Software. It processes the information below to inspect connections and apply user-defined rules.

Data processed on your device

The app may process app names, package names and UIDs; destination IP addresses and ports; TCP/UDP protocols; DNS and detectable domain names; sent and received byte counts; connection timestamps and durations; country and ASN/network-owner information; firewall rules, logs and alerts. These support connection monitoring, inspection and access rules.

Accounts, advertising and sharing

No account is required. The app has no advertising, in-app analytics or telemetry and does not sell user data. Network records remain on the device by default without automatic cloud uploads. Optional online lookups and user-initiated exports are described separately below.

Local VPN and permissions

Android VpnService is used to observe connections on the device and apply firewall rules. The app does not provide a remote VPN server service, install certificates or decrypt encrypted HTTPS traffic. The local VPN runs only with your permission through Android. You can revoke that permission in Android settings.

Country and network-owner lookups

On-device DB-IP databases provide country and ASN information for destination IP addresses. The Natural Earth map works offline and does not use your GPS location. If you enable the online IP lookup, which is off by default, a public destination IP missing from the local database may be sent to a third-party GeoIP service over HTTPS. The lookup does not send your full traffic history, private IP addresses or PCAP contents.

Packet capture, export and sharing

PCAP capture is off by default and starts only when you initiate it. Captures can contain network packets and sensitive content from unencrypted traffic. TXT, CSV, JSON or PCAP export and sharing are initiated by you. Shared files are handled by the recipients or services you choose.

Retention, deletion and security

Connection history and other local records are kept on your device. Use the app’s retention/cleanup controls or Android’s clear-data and uninstall options to delete them. Exported files must be deleted separately; shared copies are outside the app’s control. Your device’s screen lock and access security help protect these records.

Children’s privacy

The app is not specifically directed to children and does not aim to knowingly collect personal information from children.

This policy is updated when the app’s data practices change. The latest date appears at the top of this page.

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIABILITY IS EXCLUDED FOR DATA LOSS AND DAMAGE ARISING FROM DELETION, SHARING, DATA EXPORT AND ACCESS BLOCKING ACTIONS CHOSEN BY THE USER. THE APPS DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION OR ABSOLUTE SECURITY.

THIS NOTICE DOES NOT REMOVE LIABILITY FOR INTENTIONAL MISCONDUCT, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, UNLAWFUL DATA PROCESSING OR OTHER LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED. USERS RETAIN THEIR STATUTORY RIGHTS.
